

Amber Fulmer
Co-athletic Director, Volleyball and Track
Coach Fulmer, formally known as Coach Stone, is from Houston, Texas. She graduated from Texas A&M University with her Bachelor's in Education. She grew up playing Volleyball, Softball, and running Cross-Country. She is in her 3rd year teaching 8th Grade Math and her 3rd year being a Burnet Sailor.
She enjoys playing pickleball with her husband Davis, going on walks with her dog Frankie, and playing volleyball in her free time.

Sierra Soto
Co-athletic director, Volleyball, boys and girls Soccer
Coach Soto is entering her fourth year at Burnet and her third year teaching P.E. She’s from Houston, Texas. Coach Soto graduated from Texas State. She’s passionate about creating fun, inclusive opportunities for all students to engage in sports and teamwork.
Outside of school, she enjoys going to the river, baking, and drinking coffee.

Jose Sanchez
Football, Boys Soccer, and Boys Basketball
Coach Sanchez has been at Burnet for 14 years. He was first the Boys and Girls Club Director at Burnet before becoming an 8th grade social studies teacher in 2013. As the social studies department chair, Coach Sanchez lets students know that they are students first and athletes second just as he is a teacher first and coach second.
Three years ago he was selected as Austin ISD's middle school teacher of the year. He has been coaching football for the past 12 years in addition to coaching basketball and soccer. In his free time he enjoys watching sports and running (completing his first marathon last December). He has also served as captain of the Burnet Sailors Cap10K team for the past 5 years.

Carlos Silva
Football and Boys Basketball
Born in San Diego, California, and raised primarily in El Paso, Texas, he is in his fourth year of teaching. He graduated with a bachelor's degree from the University of Texas at Austin. He has experience teaching both science and inclusion math and currently serves as an Inclusion Science teacher. In addition to his role in the classroom, he is actively involved in athletics—now in his third year coaching football and fourth year coaching basketball. He is dedicated to supporting student growth both academically and through extracurricular involvement.
Outside of work, he enjoys playing basketball, hanging out with his dog, watching and talking about Star Wars, as well as cooking and baking.

Earl Derick Cabungcal
Football and Girls Basketball
Coach Cabungcal is originally born in the Philippines but grew up in Houston, Texas. He graduated from Texas A&M University in 2019 with a bachelor’s degree in Economics and is currently working on getting his master’s degree in Secondary Mathematics Curriculum. He has previously coached basketball and soccer. He is in his 6th year of teaching Math and is excited to be a Burnet Sailor!
In his free time, he enjoys being outdoors (when it’s not too hot), travelling, and hanging out with his cat. His favorite basketball team is the Houston Rockets, and enjoys watching FIBA basketball.

Dani Le
Boys & Girls Basketball
Coach Smith has been teaching science and coaching basketball for seven years. She graduated from Texas A&M University with her Bachelor's in Education. She grew up playing volleyball, basketball, and track. This is her 4th year coaching boys and girls basketball at Burnet. In her free time, Coach Smith enjoys playing lots of basketball, going on hikes, and skiing. Coach Smith has a passion for basketball and loves watching her athletes learn to play the game and become part of a team.

Veronica Rivera
Cheer, Cross Country and Track
Coach Rivera is from San Benito, Texas, which is located down in the Rio Grande Valley near the US-Mexico border. She graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Science in Education and minor in Communication. This is Coach Rivera's first year being a coach, but her second year as a Burnet Sailor teaching 7th grade Texas History. Although Ms. Rivera's sport of choice in high school was wrestling, she enjoyed playing for the UT Pep Band at their Longhorn volleyball and basketball games. When she is not at work, she loves to read, dance and above all spend time with her son, Mateó, and husband, Jose. Ms. Rivera is really excited to coach our students and help improve their confidence both athletically and academically.

Daniel Ratcliffe
Tennis
Coach Ratcliffe is one of Burnet’s two tennis coaches. He has been teaching at Burnet for six years and coaching tennis for the past three years. He teaches math and science and received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at San Antonio. Coach Ratcliffe has played tennis since he was a child and enjoys getting the next generation into a sport that they can play and enjoy for the rest of their lives.

Dellisha Garza
Tennis
Coach Garza is from Laredo TX and graduated from Texas A&M International University. This will be her 4th year coaching cheer and 2nd year coaching Tennis. During her spare time, she enjoys doing outside activities and being among family and friends. This past summer, the cheerleading team completed the UCA Cheer Camp and mastered advanced-level stunts. Coach Garza is incredibly proud of her girls' accomplishments and describes them all as being dedicated and motivated to be the best team they can be. With all this success, Coach Garza has been able to secure a space for Burnet Cheer to go to Disney! Her goal for this year is to continue fostering teamwork and dedication.

Laura Tamez
Volleyball and Girls Basketball
Coach Tamez is from Brownsville, TX. She graduated from Texas State University with a degree in Exercise and Sports Science but always knew she wanted to go into teaching/coaching. This is her 10th year and Burnet and she currently teaches 6th grade social studies and coaches volleyball and girls' basketball.
Coach Tamez loves to spend time with family/friends at the beach or jumping in the car for a road trip. She also enjoys watching NFL and cheers on the Dallas Cowboys.

Helena Walker-Wolfe
Volleyball
Coach Walker in originally from Los Angeles, Ca. She moved to Texas after getting married in 2020. She graduated from California State Dominguez Hills with her Bachelor's in Kinesiology with an option teaching Physical Education. She further her education at Azusa Pacific University where she received her Master's in Physical Education. She grew up watching and playing sports. She played basketball in High School. She also coached recreation ball for several years. This is her 4th year coaching at Burnet Middle School. She likes to watch college basketball and football sports. Her favorite team is the Los Angeles Lakers and the Los Angeles Dodgers. She also enjoys coaching her students in a sport that never played before.

Kendall Torres
Girl Soccer
Coach Torres is from central Florida. She graduated from Florida State University with a dual Bachelor's degree in International Affairs and Political Science. She received her Master's in Education from Johns Hopkins University. She currently teaches 6th grade English. This is her 10th year teaching and 3rd year at Burnet.
She grew up playing soccer and has coached middle school boys and girls, as well as younger players. In her free time, Coach Torres enjoys spending time with her family and friends, as well as her cat Georgie.

Valentino Coutino
Football, Boys & Girls Basketball, and Boys & Girls Shot Put
Coach Coutino was born and raised here in Austin, TX. He graduated from Concordia University Texas with a bachelor's degree in Kinesiology. Although he started at Burnet in January, he is now entering his first full year where he teaches P.E and coaches Football, Boys & Girls Basketball, and Boys & Girls Shot Put and Discus in Track.
Growing up, Coach Coutino attended to T.A. Brown Elementary, Webb Middle School, and Lanier High School (now known as Navarro High School). He was also involved in sports like Football, Basketball, and Track. His goal is to have an impact on students’ lives, whether it’s through sports or during class the same way his former coaches had an impact on his life which led to him becoming a teacher and coach.
In his free time, Coach Coutino likes to go to the gym, play on his Xbox, and watch sports. His favorite sports teams are the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Longhorns, San Antonio Spurs, and Austin FC. His favorite games to play on at the moment are Undisputed Boxing and College Football 26.

Edgar Valenzuela
Football
Coach Valenzuela is originally from Mexico and has been living in Texas for the past five years. Before coming to Burnet, he worked as a bilingual teacher in Dallas. This will be his first year at Burnet Middle School, teaching 6th Grade Social Studies.
Mr. Valenzuela enjoys spending time outdoors, listening to music, and traveling. He’s also a big sports fan—besides football, he loves soccer and hockey. Go Stars!
